Male infertility is a condition in which due to male reproductive problems the couple will not be able to conceive spontaneously in a fertile female.
Reproduction (conceiving) is a simple and natural experience for most couples. However, for some couples it is very difficult to conceive.
Male infertility is a widespread problem and is on a rise. About 20% of infertility cases are only because of male factor and 50% of infertility cases are due to combined causes.
Causes:
Male infertility is usually caused by problems that affect either sperm production or sperm transport. With appropriate medical testing, the doctor may be able to find the cause of the problem.
Diagnosis can be done by medical history and physical examination followed by a semen analysis to check the count, motility and morphology sperms in the ejaculate. Advanced tests can be performed in couples where basic reports are found to be normal.
